siamo ufficialmente online con la nuova versione! 
Molti di voi avranno già visto la nuova veste grafica e le nuove funzioni. Abbiamo aspettato qualche giorno prima di fare il comunicato ufficiale per fare alcune verifiche. Grazie a tutti gli utenti che ci hanno aiutato nei test!
Ecco le novità!
Per cominiciare, l’homepage è completamente cambiata. La nuova pagina iniziale è stata pensata per far capire da subito cos’è Smappo, cioè un event network, dove sono gli utenti che segnalano i loro eventi e creano un proprio network. Negli ultimi mesi abbiamo ricevuto tante richieste dirette per inserire eventi segnalati da altri. Smappo non vuole essere una redazione che controlla gli eventi segnalati, ma è un posto dove ognuno può costruirsi il proprio spazio gratuitamente per segnalare, condividere e pubblicare tutti gli eventi che vuole. Smappo è utilizzabile per i privati, per le associazioni, i comuni ed anche le aziende. Smappo offre tanti servizi gratuitamente ed è per questo che sta crescendo velocemente.
Nella nuova versione abbiamo migliorato il design, con uno stile più leggero, più attuale e che speriamo possa piacere sempre di più.
Questa è una lista delle nuove funzioni:
- possibilità di invitare nuovi amici su Smappo (da Outlook, Gmail, una lista excel)
- migliorata la gestione del profilo con la possibilità di seleziona un mini avatar
- integrazione con facebook grazie alla nuova applicazione per eventi/proprio stato
- integrazione con twitter per condividere gli eventi ed il proprio stato
- possibilità di esportare la lista amici
- possibilità di esportare gli eventi in agenda nel formato ical
- nuova pagina per la gestione degli eventi con statistiche (visite, voti, commenti)
- possibilità di creare per ogni evento la gestione “conferma/richieste di partecipazione”
- possibilità di esportare la lista dei partecipanti ad un evento
La novità più importante per Smappo è proprio la gestione dei ticket evento. Questo servizio permette di creare dei “biglietti virtuali” nel caso si voglia avere la conferma di chi verrà ad un evento. Si possono creare tanti biglietti virtuali per ogni evento, con nomi diversi, scegliendo tra tante opzioni ed in ogni momento, è possibile consultare la lista o esportarla per la stampa.
Smappo vuole diventare un partner anche per chi organizza eventi e vuole una piattaforma completa per migliorare il proprio marketing, grazie alla possibilità di inviare illimitatamente mail al proprio network per avere eventi di successo.
Smappo è cambiato, è migliorato. Smappo…event your life!

In this case, I like to get my own addresses now and have them reserved to avoid misleadind redirection or uncontrolled.

There are only two weeks left from today to fix last bugs, complete check list and test (again) all new features. There are only two full weeks left and excitement is at top. We are under big pressure to complete all tasks before end of this month and it seems that we can do it. Yes, we are on time to be ready for the big day. This summer, Smappo team will work to complete the last tasks and test new features in the upcoming version. We plan to go online in the firs days of September. Meanwhile, you can taste the new homepage, with a fresh new face
We truely thanks photographer Matteo that took a perfect picture of Ilaria, both of them are Smappo friends, and they really caught the real mood of our project. We’d love to have Ilaria and that smile be the next Smappo model.

Today I share event’s details’ preview. In this screen you can see all the information that compose an event (what, where, full description, website, phone, price, etc…)
Layout of elements has been reviewed to meet new design and graphics of the upcoming release.
The map is now resized to a little square in the top right of the page to give more room for description and services, as voting and new subscription to the event (also known as ticketing service – not shown here).

Here is what I’ve done so far now with the refactoring of Smappo. Main features are done and ready to test. New feautres are under development in the shop. Time is running out as I would like to be online with Smappo V2 as soon as possible, but I realized that managing such a project by my own is not easy and day after day I think of new piece of code to write down.
So far, these are the very first screenshots of the new version. I really hope that you will like them as it was really hard to me to get this point now. Managing Smappo in the last months was such an incredible experience. I think I’ve understood so many things and managed so many issues that my point of view improved on the whole Smappo and what an event network should be. Please, write down any comments you like (moderation will be performed) and tell me what you really think of this new version.
Since today, I’ll try to keep this blog in english, due to some overseas people interested in my project Smappo.
Later today, I’ll post some screenshots of the new upcoming version of Smappo V2, that is heavly under refactoring.

Come alcuni di voi sapranno, sto lavorando sulla nuova versione di Smappo. Per il momento il nome del progetto è semplicemente Smappo v2.
Nell’ultimo mese abbiamo ridefinito un nuovo layout e completamente rivisto la disposizione degli elementi nelle pagine. Abbiamo cercato di tenere il design tableless (qualche tabella però viene ancora usata ogni tanto per comodità) a pieno vantaggio dei div e del CSS.
Al momento siamo concentrati sul porting di tutti gli elementi e far partire la versione v2 e renderla stabile, integrando già da subito alcune nuove funzioni (come poter condividere il proprio stato di Smappo direttamente su Twitter e Facebook). Ieri (lo so…era domenica, ma la nostra roadmap è davvero stretta!) abbiamo completato la visualizzazione degli eventi utente, con alcune statistiche che prima mancavano (!!). Siamo all’80% del porting e manca poco alla messa online di Smappo v2 per i test con alcuni key users.

Questa sera ho messo online un miglioramento che dovrebbe aumentare la velocità di visualizzazione dei contenuti in Smappo. In questo modo, tutto il contenuto come css, html, js (tranne le Google Maps che NON sono gestite da noi), viene consegnato più velocemente al browser, occupa meno banda e dovrebbe migliorare le performance dell’intero impianto. Go Smappo! Speed Up!
